Serenity Yin Yoga
The power of Yin is in that state of “being” in a quiet, reflective mind where we gather our energy and will to become intuitively creative healers for ourselves and others. Through longer and opening poses, concentrated breath-focus, we explore our inner limits, create space for new growth and nourish the emotional energy centers that prepare us for living a joy-filled and productive life: the Yang state of mind – “doing, creating, experiencing”.
This is a complementary form of yoga to the normal movement and muscle stretching. Yin is about creating opening within the joints and the outer covering of the muscles (fascia) by using yoga positions that require concentration and close attention to the breath in order to achieve a state of stillness within body and mind while we hold the poses for longer periods. This class offers a quiet and reflective practice that stimulates health in joints and organs, and with an uplifting theme for the evening, the mind can reach a high state of clarity, as emotional tendencies fade into the background.
