What is Genius Yoga?
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.” – Albert Einstein
The insight of Albert Einstein concerning human nature is highly respected and quoted, as he, in all his brilliance in the field of physics, humbly reminds us that to be really alive is to experience life as a mystery. And when we are curious and look at our daily experiences with fresh eyes, wonder and awe, we are at one with the true source of inspiration, learning and genius.
Wouldn’t you agree that if you could look deep into yourself and experience and feel yourself as a miracle and a mystery, that you would have a very difference perspective on your life? For example, just consider that your heart beats over 100,000 times per day without your conscious thought and that the rest of your body constantly works in concert with the heart – with 23,000 breaths per day, replacing 25 million cells every second, moving blood 12,000 miles around your body in one day. And all of this happens with the mastery of an artist or a scientific genius, inside of us, every day, with ease and no conscious effort on our part.
If you ever thought you couldn’t possibly be a genius, this is just one of many limiting beliefs that we often carry around with us – the self-talk, attitudes and habits that keep us locked into who we have always been. When we decide to change our beliefs, we are changing the way our brain interprets information and forging new pathways and connections in the brain; and with time and practice, we are able to let go of those limiting thoughts and experience a new reality. And when we do that, we have tapped into our source of inner brilliance, our own genius, to command and create something new – a new way of being.
Genius Yoga helps with this process of letting go of limiting ideas and creating a new way of being. By reconditioning the mind with helpful steps and information, mental and physical relaxation, we begin to experience more of the mystery of our life, cultivate the feelings of awe, gratitude and joy and create a new perspective on our life.
